Karate vs Taekwondo Similarities and Differences Essay Example For Students
Karate vs Taekwondo: Similarities and Differences Essay Martial Arts Differences: Karate versus Teakwood Ever since the times of the Japanese and the Koreans, Karate and Teakwood were used forms tot self-defense. Still, the two martial arts, serve its purpose, but presently have additional purposes which are for physical fitness and spiritual and mental focus. Although the two might appear very similar, they are strikingly different. Unfortunately, many people dont know this and cant differentiate the two. , for one, became interested in differentiating the two to know which arterial art will be suitable for me; because am planning to learn one of the two in the near future. After some research, have found that both Karate and Teakwood are great martial arts, but they are different in origin, moves, and purpose. Karate and Teakwood are often mistaken to have the same origin or their origins are Often mixed up. Karate was developed in the Rusk Islands, but the island of Okinawa is considered to be its birthplace (Critter 101 , 2009). Thus, Critter 101 stated that its various styles were all rooted from the Okinawa style systems. Meanwhile, Teakwood started in Korea and was enhanced when the country was occupied by the Japanese. It just became systematic martial art after the Second World War (Teakwood-information. Org, 2009). Another difference of Karate and Teakwood are its moves, On one hand, Karate is comprised of punches, strikes, blocks, and kicks to make the entire human body a weapon. These techniques are combined with evasive footwork maneuvers and joint locks to create a hand-to-hand or hand-to-weapon combat method of basic self-defense, In addition to that, training and understanding he basic moves can deliver one of the most devastating strikes to any attacker rendering them incapacitated (Nichols, 2009). On the other hand, a lot of the Teakwood moves are about striking people using the legs and most of the moves involved spin around kicks, flying kicks, open handed strikes, system of blocks and punches. Aside from that, Tea Swoon Do believes that the leg is the most important weapon that a martial artist has and since it is the longest it has more chances of hitting the target compared to the arms (Sitting, 2008). Lastly, the two martial arts both are for self-defense, but they certainly differ in Other purposes. The Other purpose Of Karate is to make the body like iron or as hard as a rock and the hands and feet used like points of arrows. This is because it the only weapon used in a right that should be reasonable. Karate fighters arent allowed to get into fights without any reason (Toots, 1908). Meanwhile, the other purpose of Teakwood is perceived as a way of life. This is because it involves discipline, technique and mental training, resulting in a strong sense of inference, spirit and character (Mamas Health. Com). Overall, I prefer to take Teakwood, although there is the reality that both do many Of the same forms as the Other _ In addition to that, they both require athleticism, stamina, and discipline. The differentiation is that the higher kicks in Teakwood are not suitable for all people (Wiseacres). Even though Teakwood might sound more difficult, my preference for it wont change, because I like to be challenged.

The Clinton Scandal Essays - Lewinsky Scandal, Rodham Family
The Clinton Scandal Over the past month's our president William Jefferson Clinton has been under fire over his personal affairs with a young intern. Eventually in court he lied under oath about ever having a sexual relations with the twenty-one year old intern Monica Lewinsky. He also came out on national television and said he didn't do it, which really added up. Polls show that the presidential ratings are higher than ever. Many Americans believe that Clinton is doing a good job. His current ratings are about 65% so most likely the president will not be removed from office. They still believe that he did a wrongdoing but they seemed to forgive him because that's his personal life and out country/economy is at a great high. Also some of the ratings come from his great speeches. This is a quote from Tom Brookaw a respected journalist on NBC, "It seems every time Bill comes out to addresses us he delivers block buster speeches". In which these speeches motivate people and people believe him because most of everything he says he does. Another thing Bill Clinton did was balance the budget. By year 2000 we will have a surplus in money from billions may be even trillions of dollars. With all this extra money we could put some good use to it. We should be careful not to waste the dough on stupid things. Most of the extra bills will go towards saving social security. So when we need it, it will be there when we retire some day. Many people were worrying that it might run out one day but now we don't have to fret. Still some Americans believe that our president should be removed from the White House. They know that he had a sexual affair and that he abused his powers to cover-up what he did. Some believe he had other affairs as well. It really isn't anyone's business what he does with his personal life, as long as our country is doing well. He also lied under oath trying to cover-up his scandal. Too me that's what I would do under all that pressure. You wouldn't want people to know about that stuff. We never really hear about all the people (Republicans, Judiciary comity, etc) who don't like Clinton because at one point in their lives they most likely had an affair too. For instance the ex-speaker of the house Bob Livingston came out and announced his affair. Only the smart ones who decide not to mess around are the ones who have to worry about anything. Overall the president William Jefferson Clinton to me is doing a really good job. Our economy/country is higher than ever. Un-employment is at an all time low. We all know he did some thing wrong but that is his personal life and is none of our business. It's too bad that Bill has to go down as the second president to be impeached and all the food things that he did will be forgotten. But he choose to do what he did and that was his fault.

Pluto and its features. How it was discovered, its measurements compared to Earth, its surface, and its atmosphere
Pluto and its features. How it was discovered, its measurements compared to Earth, its surface, and its atmosphere Pluto....A Controversial Planet!Pluto is a very controversial planet. The reason for this is because it's a dark and distant planet and it's hard to study it clearly enough to be satisfied. Pluto was discovered in 1930 by an astronomer by the name of Clyde Tombaugh. Then James Christy and Robert Harrington discovered Pluto had a satellite, they named it Charon. Pluto and Charon are referred to as double planets. Some of the facts, or measurements, that we know about Pluto are from discovery efforts such as new inventions and long studies. There was supposed to be a scheduled mission in 2001 called the "Pluto Express Mission," and was expected to arrive at Pluto around 2006-2008, but there's no source that could tell if that went ahead as planned or if it was cancelled. From these discovery efforts we learned some data on Pluto. Specifically the measurements compared to the earth.Charon's discovery as a time-varying bulge on the ...So, the distance of Pluto from the sun is 5,913,520 x 103 kilometers, and Earth's is 149,600 x 10 3 kilometers. This should give an idea of how far away Pluto is in comparison. Another comparison between Pluto and Earth would be the radius of Pluto compared to the radius of the Earth. Pluto's radius is 1160 and Pluto's moon, Charon, diameter is 1,172 kilometers (728 miles), just over half the size of Pluto. The Earth's radius is roughly 6378 kilometers, nearly 6 times the size of Pluto! Next, will be the density of each Pluto and the Earth in comparison. Pluto's density is 2.05 g/cm3 and the Earth's density is 5.52 g/cm3. This means Pluto may be smaller but it still has a lot of density to it. The Orbital Period of Pluto is a lot longer than the Earth's because of obvious reasons. Those would...

Actions that Nurses Can Take To Maintain Skin Integrity Assignment
Actions that Nurses Can Take To Maintain Skin Integrity - Assignment Example To avoid positioning clients on sites of skin impairment, and whenever possible, the client should be turned every two hours. They can also use the appropriate and approved positioning devices. They should avoid using blankets, sheets, and towels as paddings. They are usually ineffective in distributing pressure and can lead to friction. Instead, protective padding and films should be used. To transfer patients with care to prevent the harmful impacts of mechanical forces such as shear, friction, and pressure (Wadlund 2010) Nurses should implement a documented treatment plan for sites of skin impairment. The written plan ensures consistency in the care given. Nurses can use topical treatments that maintain moist environments for wound healing. They should asses the patientsââ¬â¢ nutritional status and institute the necessary dietary supplements. This can be done with the help of a nutritionist. To be careful not to expose skins to temperatures above 42oC when using pressure re gulation devices

Perform an investigation and mettalurgical examination of an Essay
Perform an investigation and mettalurgical examination of an industrial component - Essay Example It refers to the procedures used in extracting metals from ore, as well as to the processes related to metals purification and alloy production. It is divided into two subtypes the Process metallurgy and Physical metallurgy. Process metallurgy refers to the ways in producing metals like its refining process through electrolysis or selective oxidation of impurities. On the other hand, Physical Metallurgy studies the structure of metals based on their composition and treatment. It is also concerned with the scientific principles and engineering applications employed in metals fabrication and treatments, and how metal products hold up under their industrial usages. Component manufacturers a lot much of their time in study what type of material is best suited for a certain Products. Every little aspect of the materials is a great issue to them because they want their products to be well equipped for any possible things to happen. They are also concerned to the safety and satisfaction of the Customers. The limitation of their products must be properly stated because they are held liable for whatever accident that might happen in using their products. To perform the said study, we investigate and examined the metallurgy of a gas adaptor (Industrial component). We use gas adaptor as our material because we usually noticed that this material is always exposed to heat and by this we are curious about its composition. We are also concerned with the manufacturing processes of this component on how it comes up to a finished product. This study will enrich our understanding with the proper ways and methods in identifying a certain components, not only of its physical appearance but its chemical composition and capability for a certain application. 1.) We cut a sample of the metal (Gas adaptor), using a metal cutter in a circular shape. In cutting the sample we make sure that it is enough for the investigation. Upon cutting the sample aside from its outside

Causes and efects of Obesity Essay Example for Free
Causes and efects of Obesity Essay Obesity is a factor that increases risk developing a number of serious and potentially life ââ¬â threatening disease. At present, obesity rates are rising in several developed countries such as the United States, Mexico, the United Kingdom, New Zealand and Hungary. Around a quarter of these countriesââ¬â¢s population is overweight. This essay will look at some of the causes and effects of obesity. Firstly, energy imbalance most often causes obesity. Energy imbalance is the excess of energy in over energy out. Energy in and energy out are the amount of calories the body obtains and uses, respectively. If the amount of energy in is greater than the amount of energy out, your body contains unnecessary calories. Unecessary calories is transformed into fat. The more fat you get, the more weight you gain. Overtime, obesity is inevitable. The other major cause of obesity is lack of physical activities. Sufficiently practicing of physical activities is one of the best way help burn unnecessary calories. Therefore, lacking of volume of physical activities leads to extra calories retained. As a result, obesity happens. For intances, many people hace jobs that involve too much desk sittng and no physical activities. They do not use all the energy provided by foods they eat, and the extra calories are stored as fat instead, which causes obesity. Obesity is a risk factor for many dangerous disease. However, there are two most fatal effects of obesity.à Firstly, obesity has been known as the main factor of high blood pressure. High blood pressure is literally the pressure on blood vessels caused by high workload of heart. The obese body contains fat tissue that needs oxygen and nutrients to live, which requires more blood. Therefore, the heart must pumps more blood through blood vessels, and vessels indure high pressure of blood. This causes high blood pressure. The other consequence of obesity is type 2 diabetes. Diabetes is medical condition which makes blood sugar level higher than normal. This is theà result of insulin resitance. Obesity can cause resistance to insulin, the hormone that regulates blood sugar. When obesity causes insulin resistance, the blood sugar becomes eveluated. Even moderate obesity dramatically increases the risk of diabetes, such as blindness. To summarise, obesity derives from two major causes which are energy imbalance and lack of physical activities. Its effects are numberous but the most critical ones are high blood pressure and diabetes. People who are struggling with obesity should start to do more physical activities and have a balance diet in their daily life, so that they can lose weight and avoid obesity.
